"Together for Others"
With this motto in mind, LandsAid e.V. was founded in 2006. LandsAid is a humanitarian, non-profit non-government organization. The aim of LandsAid is to provide rapid and effective aid for people in emergency situations due to natural or ecological disasters, oppression or armed conflicts. We provide ways of helping people to help themselves or by establishing new prospects for the future.
Unbiased help precisely defined
All employees and volunteers rely on many years of experience abroad. LandsAid provides professional help by concentrating on clearly defined focal points:
- Emergency medical response in the event of a disaster, consisting of voluntary medical teams under professional management
- Projects in conflict areas – project work is carried out mainly in the realms of basic medical support and nutrition according to precisely defined criteria
- Education – the systematic training and preparation of rescue teams going abroad as well as professional support for the teams during their mission
According to its statutes LandsAid is a non-government, non-denominational and non-political organization and adheres to the ethical standards of humanitarian aid as written in the "Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and NGOs in disaster relief".
As a medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid, one of the focal points of LandsAid is to provide rapid and effective aid for people in emergency situations, regardless of their race, ethnicity or derivation, their social position, political affiliation, gender or religion. LandsAid provides assistance to those in need. We try to incorporate existing local organizations and resources as much as possible for implementing the measures.
Learning to help with LandsAid
By sending out voluntary medical teams LandsAid takes an enormous responsibility. Aware of that fact, another focal point of its work is the systematic preparation and education of the volunteers, for example with outdoor programs at the Alpine foothills.
All participants are trained in key subjects as team building, cross-cultural competence, travel preparation, health threads, self-protection, mine threats, orientation and de-escalation. We also offer special programs for journalists in crisis situations, project managers or first-aider in disaster situations. All our seminars are open to everybody who is interested – as well as personnel of other organizations.
LandsAid provides assistance wherever help is needed – that could be throughout the world. LandsAid was present with a wide variety of projects in many countries: Ethiopia, Kenya, Gambia, Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, Burkina Faso, Haiti, Pakistan, Japan, Georgia, Myanmar.
