Since its foundation in 1976, the Bundesverband Rettungshunde e.V. (BRH) has developed into the world's largest private rescue dog organisation with almost 100 rescue dog teams, more than 2,200 members and over 1,200 dogs.
Under the motto 'Dogs save lives', the dogs are trained to search for buried or missing persons in the fields of rubble and area search as well as mantrailing and are deployed in Germany and abroad.
The teams can be deployed around the clock at the request of the relevant authorities. All members work on a voluntary basis and the missions are free of charge.
